How to receive Google Forms responses on WhatsApp?

"Is there a way to connect Google Form to WhatsApp?"- Google Docs Editors Community

This is a common question from Google Forms users who only get email alerts. For example, you might take orders through a Google Form and want each response in your chat, so you can answer while the customer is still waiting. Google Forms only emails you, so you keep checking your inbox, then copy each phone number into WhatsApp to reply. With Neartail, you can configure your WhatsApp number and then share the form link with your users to receive form responses via WhatsApp. Each response reaches you as a message from the customer's own number. Even better, you just reply in the same chat to agree the delivery.

Let's start. Create your form and follow the steps below.

How to configure your WhatsApp number?

The first step is to configure your WhatsApp number. Your form does not send responses to WhatsApp until you do this.
  • On the page that opens, click "Enter your form name". Type your form's name, click Generate and wait about a minute.
  • Check the outline it suggests and click Proceed.
  • Once you create the form, you will land on the form's "Edit" tab. If it asks "Do you want to preview this form?", click No.
  • If you imported a Google Form, it makes a copy of your form. If it says "Your form is private or protected", click Next and give access or publish your form in Google Forms and paste that link. Select your currency and click Continue. When it says "Your order form is ready", click Preview your form, then Edit form.

  • Click on each product and check its name and price, because a generated product can have no name and a price of 0.
  • Click on the gear icon in the last After page row above the Submit button.

  • Click On submit and select Submit response to WhatsApp.
  • Under Route to this number, enter your WhatsApp number with your country code and click Save.

How to test your form?

  • Click on "Share" tab

  • Click Link. You can copy the share link and use this to test your form.

Once you have configured your WhatsApp number, you can test the form by submitting the response yourself or by sharing the link with your friends and asking them to submit a response.

How will you receive the responses and reply to them?

When a user submits the form on a computer, they will see "Scan this QR code to confirm your order!". They scan it with their phone or, if WhatsApp is already on that computer, click the link below it.

WhatsApp will open on their side with their answers written out and they press send. The response will reach your WhatsApp as a message from their number. If they close it before sending, the response will still be available in Orders.

You can reply in the same chat. For example, if you take cake orders, you can agree a delivery time with the customer, as you have their number and their answers in one place.

Summary

If you take orders through a Google Form, it only emails you, so you keep checking your inbox and copying phone numbers into WhatsApp. With Neartail, each response reaches your WhatsApp from the customer's own number, so you reply in the same chat and agree the delivery.
