How to see who hasn't signed yet?

"User submit check request. User A approve request. User B approve request."- Google Docs Editors Community

This is a common setup for Google Forms users and 76 people on Google's forum have asked about it. For example, you send each check request through two approvers, one after the other and the checks still have to go out this week. When a request stalls, Google Forms doesn't show whose turn it is. So you email the first approver, then the second and ask again the next day. With Formesign, you can open the SIGNED PDF tab and see who has signed each check request and whose turn it is. Even better, you only remind that person.

Let's start. Create your form and follow the steps below.

1. Add your approvers

  1. Click on Create your form, click Enter your form name, type Check request and click Generate. It takes about a minute.
  2. Check the outline and click Proceed.
  3. You land on the EDIT tab, where the Add eSignature dialog says Your signing link is ready. Close it.
  4. Click the pencil on the Signature workflow card.
  5. The AI picks the signers from your form's name, so in Setup workflow, type over them so that they read Requester, Manager and CEO, delete any others from their three dots and click Next.
  6. Close the Your signing link is ready dialog.
  7. Then click Configure key fields (the notebook icon) in the last After page row and check Get name from and Get email from. They can start on the wrong person and the request email and the certificate use them, so set them to the first signer and click Save.

2. Open the SIGNED PDF tab

Each signer starts on Google Sign-in. If your staff have no Google account, click each signature field and click Not required beside Verify identity. Click SHARE and send the link to your staff. Once a request has been signed, click SIGNED PDF. If you do not see that tab, reload the page. Each card is one check request and an orange card is still waiting, so point to its 2 pending to see who hasn't signed.

3. Open Activity on the card

Click the three dots on Sam's card and choose Activity.

4. See whose turn it is

Request sent with Pending means it's that person's turn. Here, Sam's check request is waiting on Ana and the CEO signs after her.

5. Remind that person

Click Resend request to email Ana again or Copy signing link to send it to her another way.

Summary

If each check request goes through two approvers and has to go out this week, Google Forms can't tell you whose turn it is, so you end up asking everyone. With Formesign, the SIGNED PDF tab shows who has signed and who it's waiting on and you can remind only that person. Create your form and complete the steps above.
